Bistro Vue

bistro_overviewimg1.jpgOpened in November 2006, Bistro Vue is modeled on the great bistros of turn of the century Paris and offers the very best of classical French fare. The ambiance of Bistro Vue is dark and brooding with rich colours, opulent textures and low lighting. Authentic décor details are combined with new finishes to evoke feelings of dining somewhere in a back street in Europe – somewhere hidden away.

The menu at Bistro Vue is classically inspired offering a variety of appetisers including the best available oysters and caviar, a selection of entrees and a range of main courses divided in to fish, meat and vegetarian options. In addition to these, a Plat Du Jour is offered each day with a glass of wine and salad for $32 and an Escoffier dish of the week references the historical inspiration for the menu and the style of dining. Side dishes are designed to complement main courses and for sharing amongst the table. Desserts, although simply presented, rely on technical precision to successfully recreate classics such as crème brulee, tart tatin and gateau basque. A full cheese trolley is offered in addition to the dessert menu.

bistro_overviewimg.jpgThe beverage offering can be as simple or as detailed as the guest desires ranging from competitively priced aperitifs, beer on tap and wines by the glass to a broad and comprehensive wine list which represents the great wines of the world.

The ‘Wine Room’ – our private room can be reserved for events from 20 to forty eight guests.

In response to guest demand a small range of Bistro Vue related merchandise has been developed and is available from The Vue Shop including Shannon Bennett’s Guide to Paris, Bistro Vue truffle mustard and a range of Bistro Vue crockery.

In August 2011 Bistro Vue is under going exciting renovations whilst still trading as usual. This will see Bistro Vue extend in to the former Vue de monde space extending the bar and creating intimate banquette seating.
